Post a Social Media Ad (Draft)
Purpose
To provide guidelines on posting social media advertisements to recruit familes for our lab and studies.
Procedure
Facebook Advertisements

Reddit Advertisements
Note: Reddit Ads have not been effective. Facebook and Instagram are much more successful.
- Login to Reddit with the lab’s Google account
- Hover over the lab’s profile on top right, then proced to the
Advertise on Reddit
page
- Select
Create Campaign
- Add stock image to the ad (images linked here)
- Write a short/attention-grabbing headline including the following info:
- Age range for study
- Location (e.g. Zoom)
- Payment (e.g. $10 Amazon Gift Card)
- Call to action (e.g. sign up now!)
- Insert link to the lab’s
For Families
page
- Set
Call to Action
as Sign Up
- Set a custom audience (e.g. reddit pages for families, science, language, specific cities)
- Set daily budget
- Set a start and end date for the campaign
- Track campaign on the
Ad Dashboard
and the Retool Database
- See how much Reddit is charging
- Look at Impressions and Clicks
- Check database (filter for
Reddit
under Recruitment Source
)

- How much should I spend on each campaign?
Start small with new campaigns and adjust the budget from there.
- Why was my Reddit Ad rejected?
Make sure you link the For Families
page rather then the Sign Up
page from the lab’s website. Reddit rejects ads that go to links with different words than the post headline.
