Animate from audio

Purpose

To provide instructions for creating simple animations from audio clips with Adobe express’s new Animate from audio tool

Procedure

  1. Go to the link animate from audio (by Adobe Express)
  2. Select your character
  3. Resize if necessary (usually we leave as the default)
  4. Change the background color to either white (to use as is) or a green screen (#5DA312) so we can edit it out later
  5. Select browse to upload a sound file (very short sound files work best)
    • Note: never use the “Record” option as the sound quality is not good enough for research
  6. Wait while the animation is being created
  7. Once generated, click Download to download the file
    • You can also open in Adobe Express, but downloading is preferred
  8. Select Back to use the same character and background for a new audio file
  9. Then select Replace audio to change the audio
  10. Refer back to step 5 and repeat

FAQS

  1. Is there a video tutorial I can watch?

Yes! Maybe Katie made one somewhere.

  2. Can I just choose the transparent background?

No, it is better not to. The transparent background does not allow immediate download, so you have to take an extra step in Adobe Express.
